Target zone will vary for each individual, depending on the following information.

1. Age

2. Current level of conditioning

3. Personal fitness goals

4. Existing health considerations (High blood pressure, circulation or respiratory problems;, etc)

5. Medications

Getting Started

If you are just beginning an exercise program, exercise near or below the lower limit of your target zone.

Performance Improvement

If you are a conditioned athlete looking to improve your performance, you will most likely be exercising at higher intensities.  Once you know what your body is capable of, you can use this information to know when to push harder, and when to back off.

Always consult your doctor before beginning any exercise program
